13 Arrested in Major Cross-Provincial Crime Probe as Police Hunt Two Remaining Suspects

In a sweeping, months-long investigation that spanned multiple jurisdictions across Ontario and Québec, York Regional Police (YRP) announced that 13 individuals have been arrested in connection with an extensive series of violent crimes—including murders, attempted murders, kidnappings, armed robberies, and home invasions. Two additional suspects remain wanted on Canada-wide warrants as authorities continue to unravel what they describe as a sophisticated criminal network.

The probe, known as Project Wrangler, represents one of the most significant multi-police collaborations conducted in recent years. Officers from several forces worked together to track, arrest, and charge suspects believed to be responsible for orchestrating violent incidents across southern and eastern Ontario and parts of Québec between April 2024 and March 2025.

A Year of Violence Across Two Provinces

Timeline of the Investigation

According to officials, the crimes under investigation occurred between April 15, 2024, and March 20, 2025. Over this period, various police services responded to a troubling series of violent incidents, including armed carjackings, robberies, home invasions, and targeted shootings. Investigators say these offences were not isolated but instead part of a broader criminal operation involving multiple participants.

Authorities executed six search warrants at five locations between April and December 2025, which ultimately led to the arrest of 13 suspects and the seizure of four firearms. More than 150 charges have been laid in connection with the operation.

Despite the substantial progress, officials confirmed during Monday’s press briefing that two suspects remain at large, prompting renewed appeals to the public.

Two Canada-Wide Warrants Outstanding

Wanted Suspect: Trestin Cassanova-Alman

One of the men police are urgently seeking is 24-year-old Trestin Cassanova-Alman, who has no fixed address. He is wanted on numerous serious charges, including:

  • Instructing the commission of an offence for a criminal organization

  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offences

  • Conspiracy to commit murder

  • Possession of property obtained by crime

  • Robbery with violence

  • Breach of probation

  • Participation in a criminal organization

Investigators say Cassanova-Alman played a leadership role within the group and may have coordinated offences across multiple regions.

Wanted Suspect: Ingram Mohamed

The second suspect, 20-year-old Ingram Mohamed of Hamilton, is wanted by the Sûreté du Québec on a charge of first-degree murder. The charge stems from a November 2024 incident in Rimouski, Québec, where emergency responders found a deceased man, identified as Michael Lévesque-Fitzpatrick, inside an apartment.

Québec authorities recently arrested three alleged accomplices of Mohamed, including two Brampton residents, but Mohamed himself remains at large.

YRP officials emphasized that both suspects should be considered dangerous and urged anyone with information to contact police immediately.

Police Leaders Praise Cross-Provincial Teamwork

During Monday’s press conference, YRP Police Chief Jim MacSween was joined by senior leaders from Peel Regional Police, Toronto Police Service, London Police Service, and the Ontario Provincial Police. MacSween commended the extensive collaboration behind Project Wrangler.

“A Testament to Shared Commitment”

Investigators emphasized that the operation would not have been possible without coordinated intelligence-sharing and support from multiple policing agencies.

Public Assistance Still Needed

Despite substantial progress, the investigation remains active. Police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Trestin Cassanova-Alman or Ingram Mohamed to come forward. Officials reiterated that both men are believed to be dangerous and should not be approached.
